Did you know your hair & makeup skills could land you an exciting career in the film industry? Now is the time to make the jump!

AACTA and BAFTA award winning Hair and Makeup artists Anna Gray​ and Cassie Hanlon​ will guide you through the process of transitioning your skills to film & television. We have 20 places available for regionally based practitioners with hair and/or makeup training or relevant experience in any field: wedding, fashion, theatre etc, to join us for this one day workshop, learning from the best in the business.

You will learn the basics of:

• Understanding a call sheet
• Script & Make up breakdown
• Designing the look and make up tests
• Process of character looks
• Continuity
• Make up kit requirements
• Facial hair/ wigs
• FX wound simulation
• Period looks
• Tattoo cover
• Set etiquette / standby / use of radios

….and much more.

This course is delivered by Screenworks in partnership with Netflix and supported by the NSW Department of Training. It will get you ready for your first day on set, and will give you valuable time with the region's two most successful practitioners.

 Attendees will need to complete the registration process and answer the questions to be considered for a place. Registration fee is $20 for Screenworks members and $40 for Non-members. You need to have some training or experience in the Hair & Makeup industry to apply.

Information:

• This course is taking place in person in Byron Bay and is best suited to people living close to the Northern Rivers as there is no provision for travel or accommodation funds. 
• Priority will be given to Northern NSW practitioners in the first instance before we open up spots to regional NSW practitioners and finally Australian practitioners. 
• Places are strictly limited to 20 attendees, please ensure you can make the date before registering.
• To be considered for a place, candidates will need to complete the registration process and answer the questions.
• All attendees will be notified by email by Tuesday 15th August at the very latest.
• Lunch won't be provided, please bring your own, and a water bottle. There will be rolling tea and instant coffee across the day.
• A full agenda will be sent out to approved attendees before the course starts.
