Going back to where it all started Screenworks are once again offering one on one slots with our very own!
Industry Development and Programs Manager - Louise Hodgson

These half-hour slots, which can be booked via Glue Up on a first come, first served basis, are available to current Screenworks Regional Members who would like to get some general and friendly advice on their screen careers or avenues to connect with other screen practitioners or professionals to progress projects.

Louise is across every program Screenworks has to offer, she is the oracle of knowledge for film and television in the Northern Rivers. Applications for our ever popular Career Pathway Programs are coming up, and this would be a valuable opportunity to have a chat to Lou about your application and how to put your best foot forward.

Joining Screenworks last year from being a freelance Assistant Director on feature films, Nerida brings a wealth of knowledge to our below the line crew programs. Nerida is heading up Screenworks new Set for Success initiative, this would be a good chance to have a chat to Nerida about advancing your on set career, or general advice on how to get started in film and television.

Speakers
Nerida has a wealth of talent and experience in film, television and the live performing arts arena spanning two decades. Her start in television came as an in-house Production Coordinator for Essential Media, working across lifestyle, documentary and drama. She found a passion in drama and left to pursue a career as a freelance Assistant Director. Since then she has developed strong relationships and continually built her skill set to become a highly sought after Assistant Directors, working on large scale Australian and International productions including: Pirates of The Caribbean, Wolverine, Top of the Lake, Aquaman, The Great Gatsby, and ELVIS.
Nerida is based on the Gold Coast and has her own company called The Big Kids Production House, which is creating original content ideas across television and events. Nerida enjoys sharing her skill set across different mediums and is passionate about providing opportunities and training for regionally based crew to find long lasting careers in this thriving industry.

https://www.linkedin.com/in/hodgsonlouise/Louise started her career in London’s Adland, producing high profile TVCs in London with British legends such as John Lloyd (Blackadder, QI), Jonathan Glazer (Sexy Beast) and Aardman Animations (Wallace & Grommit, Chicken Run).
Since emigrating to Australia, she has worked as a TVC and corporate content producer for clients of BMF Advertising and Jungle Entertainment and has now settled in Byron Bay.
Over the last five years, she has been responsible for the development and delivery of Screenworks industry development and production-outcome programs including Createability (ABCiview), Regional Landscapes Pitch (AACTA), Fearless Films (Feros Care and Virgin Inflight), Regional Crew Development program (Netflix and TAFE NSW) and the Far North Queensland Strategic Plan (Screen Queensland).
Louise also tries to find time to keep her on-set skills current by assistant directing on incoming productions to the Byron region, such as SeaChange (Every Cloud) and Eden (Stan).
