A 2 day workshop for North Queenslanders wishing to use their accounting skills to crossover into the screen industry.
This initiative is part of Screen Queensland's North Queensland Regional Program, delivered in partnership with Screenworks.
Production Accountants are currently in short supply across the whole of Australia.
This workshop - led by screen industry accounting leaders Moneypenny - will introduce the specialised skills of film and television production accounting to 20 North Queenslanders and provide pathways into professional entry-level production accounting positions in the region.
It is ideal for those with some knowledge and experience of accounting who wish to transfer those skills to the film and television industry or production professionals wishing to add another string to their bow.
Attendees will explore the tasks and requirements of a production accountant during the Pre-Production, Shoot and Post Production phases. Covering such topics as The Budget, Cashflow, Payroll, Cost Reporting and Federal and State Incentives, it is an overview of the fundamental skills and temperament required to give the best chance of having a successful Production Accounting career.
This workshop is taught, in person, by Jill Hewitt, Training Director at Moneypenny Services. She is a financial controller and industry mentor to emerging production accountants across Australia.
