Gemma Lee is an award-winning Australian director and producer. She’s directed numerous high-end TV commercials in collaboration with global creative agencies, working with esteemed clients such as Toyota, Lexus, Pandora, HTC, Mitsubishi, Mazda, Tourism Australia and the Australian Government. Gemma has also directed music videos for some of Australia's premier artists, working with labels like Sony, EMI, and Universal. Among her achievements, Gemma’s short films have garnered substantial acclaim. Notably, her award-winning film, The Wake, was screened at the prestigious Tribeca Film Festival, where it was nominated for the Jury Prize

Emmy Award winning and Academy award-nominated Sound Recordist Paul Brincat is based in the Northern Rivers of NSW but his career has led him to all corners of the globe. One of Australia’s most respected and widely acclaimed sound recordists, his impressive list of credits includes some of Australia’s best loved and most successful films and television series as well as a range of international hits.

With more than three decades experience some of Salty’s highlights include box office hits and award-winning feature films The Invisible Man, Narnia The Dawn Treader, Mission Impossible II, Star Wars II and III and Superman Returns. His TV work includes A Place to Call Home, A Country Practice, Flipper and Young Doctors.

Ela is a freelance producer and post supervisor based in the Northern Rivers of NSW.
With experience across drama and documentary, for both film and television, she combines extensive technical knowledge with a sensitivity to the creative craft of storytelling. Recent work includes the highly anticipated remake of the classic ABC sitcom Mother and Son, as post production supervisor, and the AACTA Award winning documentary Miriam Margolyes: Australia Unmasked, as an associate producer in the field.

Other credits include the feature films Never Too Late and Blood Vessel, documentaries The Leunig Fragments and Brazen Hussies, and the TV series’ Safe Harbour and The Family Law.

Charlie de Salis is a writer, filmmaker, screen story consultant, script editor, and academic who teaches screenwriting, film studies, and critical thinking at Southern Cross University. Beginning his career as a commercial producer and director, his produced credits as director and/or writer include television drama, television documentaries, and cinema documentaries. His short films A Moment Passing and Flying were Best Short Finalists at the NZ Film Awards. Moment was also a Best Short Film finalist at the Venice International Film Festival and screened at Cannes. Charlie has worked extensively as a script and project assessor for Screen Queensland and Screen Tasmania, and his freelance script editing and story consulting experience includes five produced feature films. His current projects include story consulting on a feature film in late development, a prospective original television series/feature film, and a PhD focussing on adaptation of the novel for cinema.

Uwe has held academic roles in undergraduate and postgraduate design and serious games programs at several Australian universities. Uwe’s most recent projects have involved interdisciplinary research in collaboration with education, allied health, and mental health professionals from various fields of expertise. Uwe is a protagonist of digital fabrication and creative technologies.

I have a background in photography and film and learned my trade on some beautiful machines - Mamiya Twin Lens Reflex medium format photography cameras and Bolex 16mm film cameras. Yes, I am a native of the analog era spending much of my younger days in darkrooms and Steenbeck [another marvelous machine] editing suites. I did my undergraduate studies at Macquarie University, majoring in philosophy and film. After then going on to complete a diploma in Film and Television I went on to postgraduate film studies at the University of Technology in Sydney. I came to Southern Cross University to teach in the Media Program and to commence a PhD in Media and Cultural Studies. I have worked across a range of community access media projects; from Art Resistance to helping establish the Community Cable Project at the McHale housing estate in Redfern, to the RockAbilities Junction House Disabilities Concert. I have taught photography and video workshops in regional and remote Australia, and have traveled extensively through Central America and the SouthWest of the USA in conjunction with my research. My research interests are cinema, postcolonialism, and the politics of everyday life. My most recent research projects have been a chapter in a book on Communication as Food; and an article on Cricket, Colonialism, and Resistance.

Graduating with my Bachelor of Digital Media from Southern Cross University in at the end of 2022 I was awarded the mentorship program with Screen Works having three sessions with Veronica Fury who is one of the Principals/Executive Producers of Wild Bear Entertainment. I was awarded this program as I was unsure of what area I wanted to focus on in the media industry. After this mentorship I have a clear head and direction of what are my strengths and what I want to achieve.Currently working as a Real Estate Photographer/Videographer and casually working at The Australian Radio Network in Brisbane I am waiting for my next career opportunity to come my way.

I am a final year Digital Media and Communications undergraduate at SCU (graduating Feb 2024).

In 2021 I was awarded the Screenworks Screen Industry Media Mentorship. Since then I have been given several opportunities in the TV and film industry, one of which was working on popular Netflix hit series Surviving Summer series II in the Production Department.
