Globally we are witnessing a screen awakening in terms of the way we see ourselves on screen, the lens from which we allow our unique stories to be told and how we tell them. Streaming platforms are not only allowing for new global audiences to be accessed but allowing for once considered ‘niche’ tales to find their natural audiences across borders. These shifts are fertile ground for the rise of diverse content and inclusive storytellers, of which Australia has always blazed a trail. We hear from the leading creators of our modern Australian screen culture on how to breathe life into stories that can defiantly surpass borders and connect to audiences on new levels.
